As all of you know, the theme of this year’s prom is Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and prom will be held on Saturday, May 2 at the Windemere Hotel in Mesa. With only two months left until the big night, we have a few creative suggestions for those of you thinking of ways to ask your dates!

Asking someone to prom is not only nerve-racking, it’s old school! Most of us spend the majority of time talking to our friends over text, social media, or messaging apps, so why not use the same methods when it comes to asking someone to prom? Here are a few of our creative suggestions to help you come up with your own unique way to ask someone to prom:

ENROLL FOR PRIMAVERA
  • Tag on Instagram
Everyone uses IG to capture the beauty of the moment in our lives. Whether that moment happens to be your hand-crafted sandwich, the Arizona sunset, or even a really great seflie (that you definitely didn’t choose from 16 attempted takes). Even though we respect the rare exquisiteness of a #nofilter shot, filters can help add a certain type of style to any photo. We especially wanted to change the scene when considering entering the mystical world of Wonderland and taking a seat at the Mad Hatter’s table. This tone or atmosphere could be accomplished with a filter like X Pro II, for example. What’s really important, however, is the message, which is easy enough to ask using a single word.
  • Text using emojis
If you aren’t so good at expressing yourself with words, don’t be limited to the alphabet! Open your list of emojis and get creative, just don’t be too elusive and keep your fingers crossed that the recipient  can understand your emoji message!
  • Tweet a hashtag
You have 140 characters and endless hashtags to ask someone to prom, so keep it short and sweet! You can even make it a fun challenge by asking for retweets while you anxiously wait for their reply.

No matter how you decide to ask someone to prom, have fun with it! And after you get a date– or decide to fly solo– try to calm the butterflies in your stomach for when you meet IRL and dance the night away.

Take a screen shot and share how you creatively asked someone to prom by posting the photo on our wall or tweeting us!
