If you’re looking to start at a college or university this Fall 2015, we have another scholarship opportunity to share.

The Armstrong Family Foundation Scholarship Program at Arizona State University, offers up to $8,000 per year to those who are selected.

The Armstrong family started this scholarship program to help students with family circumstances beyond their control that could limit their financial resources and prevent them from accessing educational opportunities.

If you are an orphan, a ward of the court, living with extended family, in foster care, an independent student without financial support or if you have experienced extreme life circumstances, this scholarship could be right for you.

The scholarship not only offers financial help, it also has a support network for students to get involved with the Armstrong family and follow up regularly to make sure students are working through obstacles and reaching their goals.

Students must meet the following criteria to qualify:

  • Need-based students
  • Must have a minimun 3.0 GPA
  • Must have Arizona residency
  • Must have full-time enrollment at ASU
  • Academic Level: Incoming Freshman, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior
  • ASU Campus: Tempe, Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic, West, Online
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the scholarship deadline.

Once students are selected, if they continue to meet the criteria (including participation in Armstrong programs) and show progress toward a degree that scholarship will be renewed each year.

Finalists for the scholarship will be contacted for a personal interview with the selection committee. Head to the Armstrong Family Foundation website to be prepared to discuss how you meet the criteria that the Foundation has established for this scholarship.

Students also are selected based on academic achievement, ambition and a demonstrated ability to overcome personal obstacles.

Deadline for this scholarship is March 1st, 2015.

Good luck, panthers!
