Hometown: I’m an Arizona Native and I grew up in Tempe
Where did you attend college? I started my general studies at Mesa Community College and then I graduated with my B.A. in Secondary Education, Spanish from Arizona State University.
What subject(s) do you teach and why? I teach Spanish. I took Spanish in middle school and participated in a mini foreign exchange program called “Hands Across the Border” where I went to Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico and stayed with another student’s family for 5 days. I grew to love the language and the culture so much that I continued studying Spanish and decided to become a Spanish teacher. I always look forward to passing on my knowledge and enthusiasm for the language and culture to all my students.
What do you enjoy doing outside of school? What do I not enjoy would be an easier question to answer. I enjoy watching movies, spending time with my 2 year old son, family, and friends. I like being outdoors, going on road trips, playing games, singing, dancing, and so much more.
Do you have any advice to help students succeed in an online high school? My advice to help students succeed in an online high school would be to stay organized and not get behind. Don’t be afraid to contact your instructor anytime with any questions you have. Remember your instructors are here to help and really care about you and want you to succeed.
What is your favorite book/movie? I have a hard time picking favorites, but I’ve enjoyed reading many books written by Jodi Picoult and I typically enjoy watching any movie with Julia Roberts or Will Smith.

What is your favorite dessert/food? My favorite type of food is Mexican food. My favorite dessert is cheesecake or anything else that has chocolate in it.
