//Guidance: MCC Tuition Scholarship

 Do you live in Maricopa County and want to go to Community College? The Presidents’   Scholarship awards full-time in county tuition (a dollar amount equal to 15 credit hours) and the registration fee   for up to four consecutive fall and spring semesters of Maricopa Community College District coursework.


Who: Top 15% of the class AND enrolling into Honors Program with a Maricopa County Community College

What: Tuition for full time students who live in Maricopa County and plan attend one of the Maricopa County Community College

When: May graduates for Fall start, December graduates for Spring Start

Where: Maricopa Community Colleges

Here is some in depth information to determine if you are qualified:
Students submitting the Presidents’ Scholarship application must meet all of the following requirements to receive the scholarship:
• Graduate from a North Central Association (NCA) accredited Maricopa County high school* within two academic semesters preceding this application.
• Verify rank in the top 15 percent of his/her NCA-accredited Maricopa County high school class in the sixth, seventh, or eighth semester AND, at the time of application, have either tested into at least ENG 101 (with a minimum WritePlacer score of 5), MAT 120, and CRE 101, or have successfully completed, at an MCCCD college, the requisite course work for placement into at least ENG 101, MAT 120, and CRE 101.
*Alternatively, students who complete secondary education programs in Maricopa County may qualify via placement test scores. To qualify, students must achieve the following scores on the Maricopa Community College placement test:
• English: WritePlacer score of 6 or higher,
• Reading: Exemption from CRE101, AND
• Math: Placement in MAT120 or higher
• Upon graduation from high school, request that one official, final 8th semester transcript with graduation date, rank in class, final grade-point-average, and impressed school seal be MAILED directly to the Honors Program at the Maricopa Community College that you plan to attend.
** Hand-delivered transcripts are not considered official transcripts. Your scholarship cannot be awarded until your final transcript has been received.
• Enroll at the Maricopa Community College of your choice within two academic semesters following high school graduation without having attended another accredited college or university before enrolling in a Maricopa Community College (summer sessions excluded).
• Fulfill other college specific entrance requirement(s).
