“My Best Effort”

I generally do good in school

But it’s not because I’m smart

It’s because I try very hard

And give it all my heart

 

I’ve always said that I’m not special

It’s simply because I try my best

I just focus on the task at hand

And forget about all the rest

 

It’s not about the ability

Nor being wise

It’s about keeping

Your eyes on the the prize

 

Studying is very important

But it’s not a recipe for success

It’s about reaching my goals

And until then I will not rest

 

I’m no better than anyone else

It’s simply about the desire

When I set a goal it eats away me

Like an inextinguishable fire

 

I’m not afraid of hard work

Of failing or being hurt

Because it’ll all be just fine

As long as I give my best effort
