The cat (or should we say the panther?) is out of the bag! This year’s prom theme is Glitz and Glamour: A Night at Gatsby’s, and we couldn’t be more excited! Even though there’s plenty of time before the event, here’s some important details to get you just as stoked as we are.
Important Details for Prom 2016: A Night at Gatsby’s
- May 14, 7 – 11 p.m. at the Windemere Hotel in Mesa, located at 5750 E. Main St.
- Open to all 9– 12th grade Primavera Online High School students and guests under the age of 21
- Students can bring up to three guests, who must also be in at least the ninth grade and under the age of 21
- Tickets cost $30 and must be purchased by May 11. Purchase yours HERE.
- All attendees, Primavera students and guests, must have a purchased ticket and fill out a permission slip by May 11. As a reminder, there will be no physical tickets. Once you’ve purchased yours online, we will have your name added to the list!
- A form of identification, such as a driver’s license or student ID, will be required to enter
- Attire is formal, and we encourage you to incorporate Gatsby themed accessories! Just be sure to keep it school appropriate.
What’s Happening at Gatsby’s
Come join us at Gatsby’s manor (AKA the Windemere Hotel) and live in the Roaring ’20s for a night! There will be food, games and a glamorous, glitzy photo booth complete with props including hats, fluffy boas, sunglasses, signs and more! And of course, what would a prom be without dancing? We will have a DJ with live music and a dance off with a prize for the winner, along with prizes for students who best wear the Gatsby theme.
Did someone say food?
Don’t worry; we wouldn’t leave you hungry on your big night! There will be several goodies to enjoy at prom like water, iced tea and raspberry lemonade, along with delectable chocolate dipped strawberries and other desserts. Plus, nearby restaurants will be offering discount just to Primavera students the night of prom. A list of participating restaurants will be provided soon, so stay tuned!

All tickets must be purchased and permissions forms received by Wednesday, May 11 in order for students and their guests to attend. Keep an eye on our Facebook page over the next few months for a chance to win a set of prom tickets through one of our contests!
The following items are prohibited:
- No outside food or beverages (including alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be allowed
- No weapons of any kind (including knives)
- No illegal drugs or substances
- No fireworks or pyrotechnics
- No animals, except service animals assisting those with disabilities
- No noisemakers, bullhorns or air horns
- No tobacco products of any kind

I am going to attend this prom, since this is my senior year, so this will be my first prom to attend too, I cant wait to meet everybody, and Principal Barnes, You better watch out, I heard you are still undefeated in dance competition, so I am challenging you to Dance off.

Part of me wants to go, knowing this is my last year in school, but between the price, and not knowing anyone at Primavera, it’s hard to tell if I’ll go. I might, though indecision and lack of friends might make this difficult to choose! Also doesn’t help I’ve never been to a large school dance.
Joseph, even if you don’t know many people, I think that if it’s your last year in school then you should give it a shot! It’ll be a great opportunity to make some friends if you go, and it should be a lot of fun!
I was just wondering something about the age thing. What if the two people I’d like to bring both turned 21 this year? One of them is actually turning 21 the day of the prom.

I would really love to go to Prom with my girlfriend but I just turned 21 years old on January 13, 2016 is there any way that you can possibly give an exception to a student if they are 21 but only in the 9th grade ? I would really love to go to Prom with my girlfriend.

I just wanted to say that I’m very excited for this Prom! I am a senior and only ever attended one dance my freshman year, when I went to public school. My best friend attends Primavera, as well! We are so excited to meet anyone and everyone. It’ll be a blast! I can’t wait! 🙂

Hi, Yadira. If you’ve already purchased your tickets, then you’re all set! We will have your name (and the names of any other guests you purchased tickets for) on our list! All we ask is that if you do have some form of ID, you bring it with you to confirm your name. See you at prom. 🙂
Are there unlimited Prom tickets? Or is there the possibility of Primavera selling out of tickets and me not being able to go anymore? I am trying to figure out if I should wait a little longer to buy the tickets or buy them now.
Hi, Jonathan. Because we are holding prom in a large hotel ballroom, the chances of tickets getting sold out are slim. However, we recommend purchasing your tickets soon rather than later, as you only have a few weeks left anyway! 🙂
Once my photo is approved for the student ID and I order it, how long does it usually take to receive in the mail?
