When you first heard about switching to an online school, chances are you were worried about missing your friends. But as many of our current students here at Primavera know, meeting classmates and making friends is oftentimes much easier than at a traditional school. Here’s a couple of the many ways Primavera makes it easy to stay social in an online environment.
PSP Chat
Primavera has an online Parent Student Portal (PSP) where you not only can access grades, contact your teachers and do your homework, you also get to meet your classmates! Within the PSP is a community center where you can find your classmates and talk with them in a safe and fun way.
All School Events
If you enjoy hanging out with friends and eating free food, chances are you will love the All School Events! Held quarterly throughout the school year, these activities are a great way to meet classmates and have some fun.
To name a few, this past year we held All School Events in October to visit the haunted house at Fear Farm, in December to see the Zoolights at the Phoenix Zoo, and in April we went to multiple spring training games!
All School Events are open to all students at Primavera! Oftentimes we will even invite you to bring your friends from other schools to join in on the fun.
Online Student Clubs
If you have a hobby you enjoy, come join a student club! We have a wide variety of online student clubs for you to meet fellow Panthers who share your same likes and interests. Occasionally our students clubs will hold in-person events including field trips and volunteering!
Get involved in your community with the Student Government Association, write your own novel through the Book Club or go to art museums and learn to draw with the Art Club! And don’t worry, we have plenty more clubs for you to join; check them out here.
Prom
Nobody rocks prom like our Panther students! We have games, food, movies playing and a live DJ so you can dance the night away or enjoy hanging out with your classmates and friends. Not to mention our annual dance off with our principal! To date, Principal George Barnes is still undefeated in a dance off at Prom.
What’s more, our Prom is open to all Primavera students so you don’t have to wait until your junior year to have some fun!
At Primavera there are so many ways to get involved, it’s easy to stay social in our online environment! Be sure to stay tuned to our blog for more information on upcoming school events and student clubs.
