What subject(s) do you teach and why? I teach ENG11 and love it! Teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs anyone can have. Every day, I get to work with some of the most amazing young adults who inspire me to work harder because they are working hard. English is a great subject to teach, it challenges us to write better, read more, and think deeper. How cool is that?!
What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and dog Lewey. Most activities involve the great outdoors. Recently, I was introduced to Arizona jeeping which is amazing. We are avid sports fan and when possible will take in a game (any game) football, baseball, basketball, hockey.
Do you have any advice to help students succeed in an online high school? Online school is challenging, it requires a lot of discipline and work. I tell my students that we are in this together, that their success is truly my success. They are the reason I am here. If I could offer any advice on how to succeed, it has to begin with communicating with your instructors. Contact your instructors if you are falling behind, struggling with a concept, or if something is going to prevent you from completing a project etc. You are capable of so much more than you realize. I tell them that life happens, but do not hide. More times than not it is not as bad as you think and to never give up, and to always remember that all teachers were once students too, we get it!
What is your favorite book/movie? Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights is still one of my all time favorite novels.
What are 3 things you absolutely cannot live without?
1. My family

What is your favorite dessert/food? Pumpkin or lemon bars
What are two things on your bucket list? I haven’t created a bucket list yet, but I am sure it would involve adventures and traveling.
