Name:   Amy Joy

Hometown: Tempe, Arizona

Where did you attend college?  I did my undergraduate studies at Arizona State University and I am currently working on my Master’s Degree at Grand Canyon University.

What subject(s) do you teach and why?   I teach Special Education because I have always had a passion for teaching outside of the box and helping struggling students learn. I love creating new tools and techniques for these students and my favorite part is watching them “get it.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of school?  I love to write, and I have even started my own personal blog. I love reading when I have spare time and most of all I love looking for new opportunities to learn.

Do you have any advice to help students succeed in an online high school?  Do your projects on time and attend Adobe sessions. The most important thing is to stay in contact with your instructors.

What is your favorite book/movie?  My favorite book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. My favorite movie is Now and Then.

What are 3 things you absolutely cannot live without? My computer,  my cell phone and my car.

What is your favorite dessert/food?   My favorite food is spaghetti and my favorite dessert is cheesecake.

What are two things on your bucket list? Two things on my bucket list are travel to another country and be a mom.
