At Primavera Online High School, we have incredibly talented students, and those in the Art Club are no exception! In this series, we feature work submitted directly from our students to help our talented Panthers get noticed.

This month, the Art Club took some time to celebrate Valentine’s Day by channeling their thoughts and feelings into their art. From “relationship rollercoasters” to red and pink themed illustrations, we have some great pieces to check out! See their artwork below.

Ashley Rosenow

“I created this with Krita, which is a digital drawing app. I created this digital Chibi girl for Valentine’s Day, the outfit, the background, her hair and pretty much just the colors are Valentine’s Day related. Chibi is a Japanese slang word for ‘Short Person’ or ‘Small Child.’ It means someone that is small in stature. I decided to do this drawing because I love drawing Chibi and I love Valentines Day colors, so I combined the two and created this (my drawing).”

Jessica May

“Hi, my name is Jessica May. I am a junior at Primavera. I made this poster because I am more into drawing and painting. I got different colored paint that would look good and have meaning to the month of February. Also the reason why love is in the center of the heart is because love has a really strong meaning. The words family, faith, laugh and hope are also on there because they are related to love.”

Matthew Vargas

“Valentine’s Day is what inspired me to make this exact ride. I always kinda went with that classic romance when celebrating Valentine’s Day, and always thought of classic wooden coasters as somewhat romantic, so I thought these would go hand and hand.”
– Matthew Vargas, freshmen, Art Club member

Sarah Ferwerda

“For Valentine’s Day, I created this rose, using acrylic paints on canvas paper.”
