To kick off our Student Spotlights series, we wanted to get in the spirit of the holiday season and talk about Thanksgiving.
We love the warm and fuzzy memories that remind us to be thankful so we asked some of Primavera’s student club members about their favorite Thanksgiving moments. Check out what they had to say below.

Favorite Thanksgiving moment or memory: My favorite Thanksgiving memory is my sister’s birthday. Her birthday is on the 28th so it occasionally falls on Thanksgiving. She lives with my mom but every other holiday she and my two brothers will come and stay with me and my dad. So whenever her birthday is on Thanksgiving, it is always a good one.
Devin Moleterno, 11th grade
Favorite School Subject: My favorite subject in school would have to be any of the subjects because they can all be fun. It all depends on what we learn and the mood I am in for the class. LOL.
Hobbies: My hobby would have to be running races. I run 5k, 10k, and my next one will be a half marathon. This is the only hobby I have.
Favorite Thanksgiving moment or memory: My favorite Thanksgiving memory is the year that the three of us kids were with my grandmother for the last year. This was my first picture with my grandmother.
Jayde Kolb, 11th grade

Bradley Phillips, 12th grade
Clubs: Art Club.
Favorite School Subject: History.
Hobbies: I love to paint and draw. I also like to build things. I like to make models of aircraft, particularly military aircraft. I mainly love to draw up new designs or even machines.
Favorite Thanksgiving moment or memory: My favorite Thanksgiving moment was when my dad and family sat down to watch his team (Raiders) play football. We had Turkey and all kinds of good food. It was one of my last Thanksgivings with him before he passed away. It is a good memory because he was healthy enough to scream at the T.V. with me.

My favorite thanksgiving moment was when I had all 13 of my siblings and 19 other family members at our house for a big thanksgiving feast. It was a blast because we all were together for the first time, but man it was a lot of people in a 2,000 sq.ft. house! 🙂
You have 13 Siblings?!?!?!?
Yes I have thirteen siblings. We are all adopted, plus we have alot of cousins and other people who we consider family. 😛
(I’m not sure if we were supposed to state the clubs and such)
I can’t choose between two. One was the Thanksgiving before my grandmother passed away. You see, our family isn’t the best with communication and it was difficult for us to get along. My grandmother was always the mediator. And even with the family fighting again, we all came together to have a beautiful, home-cooked Thanksgiving meal. The food was delicious and it was one time that they weren’t fighting with each other. I’ve looked at the pictures taken on that day a thousand times and the happiness embedded in them and although they fill my heart with longing for my amazing grandmother, they also remind me that families really are capable of being a family.
The other was about two years ago. My family had spent the Thanksgiving before by ourselves. It was a small, lonely Thanksgiving on a little table in a tiny apartment. That year, we had invited plenty of relatives, not really expecting them to show. When the day came around, our new house began to overflow. My relatives, along with the relatives that come from my step-father were there. We were all very happy, and the food definitely helped us enjoy ourselves! We had to use four large tables, the two large couches in the living room and move around the furniture just to fit everyone. It was a beautiful thing to see everyone like that, even if I was a little cramped.

My favorite thanksgiving moment, is when I be able to bond with my dad and my grandma since, they are gone to work, We laugh, we cry, we enjoy the connection and the experience with every single years of thanksgiving, I can’t even imagine how much more bonding we would have on christmas!!
