“I started high school in 2012. My graduation year was supposed to be 2016. However, I dropped out of high school in 2014 and decided to jump straight into college. I was blinded, young and scared. I finished a couple months of college and decided to leave that as well, because I got too wrapped up into friends and work. In November of 2014, I found out I was pregnant, which scared me beyond what anyone could believe. Just the thought of being a teen mother made my eyes start to water. I honestly thought I would never graduate, I would never have the time of day to be able to re-enroll into high school, that my dreams of holding that diploma went down the drain.

June 24, 2015, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. That’s when I realized I had to do something. I’m now a role model for this little girl. So, I got back into high school, but instead of a public school I chose to do online so I can be home with my daughter. It’s hectic. In all honesty, it’s not a walk in the park. But I do it to show my daughter it is possible. These will be the hardest years of our lives, but the pay off is worth it, especially when you have a little one looking up to you wishing that one day they will be just as great as you. I won’t let the criticism break me. I won’t let the stress push me down. I will graduate. I will show my daughter that anything is possible with the right motivation.

Primavera has helped me out by giving me a flexible schedule, and also the amount of understanding that the teachers’ give me knowing that I am a teenage mother who is working 40 hours a week. They’re very lenient and understanding, which is why I love to say with pride, that I am happily a Primavera student.”
