Where did you attend college? Glendale Community College, Northland Pioneer College, Arizona State University, University of Phoenix.
What subject(s) do you teach and why? English, because I have always had a love for reading and creative writing. I love talking about different perspectives on characters and plot lines, and teaching allows me to have those conversations and hopefully pass along at least a small portion of that appreciation to others.
What do you enjoy doing outside of school? Playing with my 4 kids. My kids are 8, 3, 2, and 5 months so there’s always a variety of activities to be involved in. I love helping my kids be creative with their imaginations and learning to work as a team. I also enjoy spending time watching movies with my husband and planning family vacations we can take our kids on when they are a little older.
Do you have any advice to help students succeed in an online high school? Be realistic about your time, set a schedule, and then send your instructors a message at the beginning of each block with the information they need to know about you and your work plans and habits. Online learning is much more effective when the whole team understands one another’s needs and schedules.
