Mrs. Newman discovered Primavera Online High School through a former student of hers. The student was performing below average in her previous high school and dropped out. When the student came to Primavera, she was very successful and happy. When Mrs. Newman saw this, she felt she had to make the switch over to teach at Primavera. After being hired, she was looking forward to learning how education works in an online classroom and reaching out to students whose needs were not met at a traditional high school.
Mrs. Newman loves teaching at Primavera and feels strongly about the program. She comes to work every morning with a positive and cheerful attitude towards her students and fellow staff. She believes that being really optimistic with students makes a big impact on her student’s willingness to learn. “I want them to have a ‘feel good’ moment when talking to me,” stated Mrs. Newman. One student in particular that Mrs. Newman feels she truly reached out was a young girl who didn’t believe she could pass English. Since day one, Mrs. Newman worked with her every step of the way. Mrs. Newman would attach her phone number in every email and note sent to the student, so that if the student was ever struggling her number was easily accessible for the student to get in contact with her. Since Mrs. Newman gave nonstop effort to help the student, the student passed the course.
