This week we had the honor to interview Molly Ryan, an electives teacher from Primavera Online High School. With Molly Ryan’s strong educational background as a principle, she is a highly motivated teacher that uses positive feedback to encourage her students. Currently, she teaches 7 habits, Health and a Law & Ethics courses. She discovered Primavera through a friend that bragged about Primavera’s pleasant environment. Molly felt that it was time for a change so she made a switch to the virtual world of education. On her first day, Ms. Ryan looked forward to meeting the school’s enthusiastic administrators and teachers. She was impressed by their professionalism as well as amazed by Primavera’s hospitality.
Everyday Ms. Ryan motivates students to better their future through techniques and strategies such as finding something special about each student so that she can relate to them. Hailey Richardson is one student in particular that Ms. Ryan reached out to. She has remained persistent in keeping constant contact with Hailey so that she may pursue her dream of performing in musicals. While Hailey embarked on her journey to undergo interviews for the television show Glee in the state of California, Ms. Ryan would call to check up on her to make sure she completed her homework on time.
With our interest in getting to know Molly Ryan better, we asked if we could get to know a few fun facts..
What is your favorite sports team?
Ms. Ryan: USA woman’s softball team. My daughter is a softball player for AZ Power and will be getting a college scholarship. (Currently, 6 colleges are scouting her performance).
Dog or Cat person? Why?
Ms. Ryan: I use to be a dog person, but now with our new kitty in August I am a dog and a kitty person.
Do you have any pets?
Ms. Ryan: Kenzie is my dog and Lulu is the kitty. I think Lulu thinks she is a dog. Kenzie is her protector.
What is your favorite band or type of music?
Ms. Ryan: Country and Little Big Town is singing my favorite song for now On the Pontoon.
Where are you from originally?
Ms. Ryan: I am a native of Chandler, AZ. I have lived in Chandler all 47 years of my life. I have a fabulous family I spend a lot of time with.
Two things on your bucket list?
Ms. Ryan: I would like to be in an on-stage musical, maybe at the Hale Theater. Also, I dream one day to swim with dolphins.
