Things to Look Forward to in 2016

The new year is upon us! Now’s the time to bring out those new calendars, and start reminding yourself to use that new date at the top of every assignment. And don’t worry; there’s more exciting things to do this year than that! In fact, we’ve compiled a list of some great things happening at Primavera this year. Check them out int he list below.

What’s Happening at Primavera Online High School in 2016

1. Eat to the Beat 

Every first Friday of the month from noon–1 p.m., Primavera students have exclusive access to Live 101.5’s Eat to the Beat. That means every month, Primavera students get the chance to go ‘behind the scenes’ and enjoy live music mixed by a DJ and free food. The location can vary each month, so be sure to stay tuned to your PSP for more information.

2. Prom

It’s the greatest school event of the year! Prom is happening May 14 from 7–11 p.m. at the Windemere Hotel in Mesa. Our prom is open to all Primavera students under the age of 21, and is way more than just a dance (though we do that, too)! We’ll be having a photo booth, games, movies playing and a dance off competition with Principal Barnes, who is the undefeated champion to date. This year’s theme is A Night at Gatsby’s, and you can check out the details HERE.

3. Graduation

Here’s another exciting event: graduation, happening in July this year at the Grand Canyon University in Glendale. Each year, our school comes together to celebrate our seniors who earned their diplomas. Plus, leading up to graduation, we will be hosting several Meet and Greets held throughout the state for seniors to enjoy food and get to know each other before the big day. More details will be coming to the blog within the next couple of months, so stay tuned!

4. Student Clubs

Of course, these are ongoing for students to attend. But hey, new year, new experiences, right? We have over 11 different clubs for you to check out and get connected with fellow Panthers who share your same interests. Student clubs meet online every month and host club events throughout the year for members to come and enjoy. So check out the list of clubs available on our website, pick one to join and get more involved this 2016!

5. Meet and Greet Passes

Remember that cool Eat to the Beat thing we mentioned awhile back? Because of our connection, we often get great Meet and Greet passes to various artists! Last year, our students got to meet stars like Alessia Cara, Daya, Shawn Hook, Little Mix and more! We run contests at various times throughout the year, so keep an eye on your PSP for a chance to meet an up and coming star for free through Primavera!

6. Social Media Contests

If you haven’t noticed, we love showering our students with prizes! In addition to chances to meet singers, we also hold many contests on social media throughout the year for you to win items, varying from concert and movie tickets to some Primavera swag!

7. Featured Work on our Blog

Have you seen our Panther Post,  Student Spotlight or Art Club’s Abstract State of Mind series? Whether you like writing, love the arts or simply have a story worth sharing, you can get featured on our blog post. This is a great way to get your work published and add something to your resumes and college applications. Whenever you’d like to be featured, simply send an email over to [email protected] and send us your story or artwork with a description about you.

8. More All School Events

We’re already kicking off 2016 with a New Year Kickoff Event this Friday, and will have more to come! Every month, we host fun school events, open to all students and their friends and family with activities such as bowling nights, movie nights and more!

A great New Year’s resolution is to get more involved, and we’ve got your solution with several events and things to do this year at Primavera.
