If you’ve always wanted to meet the nation’s top leaders at Washington D.C., now is your chance!
The U.S. Senate Youth Program is offering a $5,000 scholarship and a week-long, all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. to two students from every state. Junior and Senior high school students who apply will be required to take a civics test administered by their high school counselors. Those who score in the top ten percent will then be invited to interview before a panel of judges from the Arizona Department of Education. The panel will select two Arizona students as recipients of the scholarship and a chance to meet the nation’s leaders.
The deadline to apply for this program is Monday, October 20.

So, it says we are required to attend Washington Week. It also said that Washington Week was in March of this year. How were we supposed to know about it? If didn’t attend, are we ineligible for the scholarship?
According to the timeline on the website, Washington Week will take place on March 7-14, 2015. We can understand your confusion, as it appears that the brochure provided is outdated. If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, it is required of you to attend Washington Week this coming March.
Okay! Cool! 🙂
