At Primavera, there are several ways to get connected! No matter your circumstances, Primavera wants to help you not only get your fully accredited high school diploma online, but also enjoy your high school experience along the way. That’s why we started the Young Parent Support Group (YPSG), an online student club created a couple years back to let young parents get connected and talk with each other.

Meet Mrs. Benjamin-Baker, YPSG Club Advisor

Mrs. Benjamin-Baker is a Science instructor who enjoys running, sewing, hiking and being outdoors. Like many of our students Mrs. Benjamin-Baker is a mother to two young boys whom she loves getting to spend time with any chance she gets. Her little family is what inspired her to become a club advisor for the YPSG, as Mrs. Benjamin-Baker told us.

“We have a large population of students, here at POHS, that are also parents. If a student stays home to care for their child and also takes online classes, they can become isolated.  It is our goal to allow our members a way to connect and share with others like them,” said Mrs. Benjamin-Baker.

What’s Happening with the YPSG This Year

In addition to the monthly online meetings held every first Wednesday at 6 p.m., the YPSG club will be hosting in-person events, as well as attending some major school events. Check out a few things that could be happening this year in the following list.

  • Children’s Museum. Free every first Friday!
  • Clothing Swaps
  • Park Meet Ups
  • All School Events
  • Prom

Come join the YPSG group and talk with others who are in your same walk of life. Learn how to focus on schoolwork while caring for a little one, exchange baby toys and clothing and get answers to your questions.

The Young Parent Support Group meets online every first Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. For more information, email [email protected].
